Orbiter™ - Integrating the Coating Process
Orbiter™ is an intelligent, 3-in-1, integrated coating solution for landlines incorporating heating, Multi-Component Liquid (MCL) and Fusion-Bonded Epoxy (FBE) driven by the same control platform:
Orbiter™ Heat: Inverter-based induction technology selectively pre-heats the field joint area; maintaining a steady and constant heat where required. Usable on all terrains.
Orbiter™ MCL: Applies Multi-Component Liquid (MCL) coatings using high-pressure airless spray technology without operator intervention even on adverse gradients.
Orbiter™ FBE: Automatically applies Fusion-Bonded Epoxy (FBE) to the welded joint using accurate metering of the powder flow to achieve optimal dry film thickness (DFT).
Orbiter™ is proven in the field and ideal for pipes from 12’’Ø and upwards.
SeriCoat™ 3-Layer Coating
SeriCoat™ is an advanced, automated and fully-contained system for field joint coating, including reduced-noise surface preparation, reduced cycle times, intelligent heating and high quality coating, SeriCoat™ offers the highest quality finish and fastest-paced production for spoolbase operations. SeriCoat™ has been designed to ensure faster spoolbase operations for everyone from welding to field joint coating.
A coating solution for spoolbases, encompassing: blast cleaning, heating, anti-corrosion and top-coating:
SeriCoat™ Blast: Closed cycle blast cleaning that tracks the pipe surface and self-aligns with changes in the pipe’s centre line. Providing quieter operation, achieving <85dB(A) at 3 m - benefiting the production environment.
SeriCoat™ Heat & Coat: Combines induction heating and anti-corrosion coating in one machine to apply the first two layers. Heating is regulated to ensure consistency of the heat profile - both across the exposed metal and under the mill-applied coating. The anti-corrosion and adhesive co-polymer layers are applied via a spray system that achieves uniform application.
SeriCoat™ Topcoat: The third layer (mechanical protection) is applied using controlled temperature and pressure to deliver uniform thickness and adhesion.
